Dorothy Boucher changed her name to Chili Bouchier when she moved into acting.  Her earliest film credit was for the role of Rachel, a gypsy, in Maria Marten (1928). She easily found roles in sound films from 1930s onwards and performed on the stage.  She spent two years in The Mousetrap and appeared in revivals of Follies, A Little Night Music  and starred with James Stewart in Harvey.  In 1996, she wrote a book about her acting career and love lives titled “Shooting star: The Last of the Silent Film Stars” published by Atlantis Books. She was just a few weeks short of ninety years old when she died.

The Women’s Library (London Metropolitan University) hold her personal papers. http://calmarchive.londonmet.ac.uk/DServe/DServe.exe?dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=Index.tcl
